| Don Edwards Don Edwards enjoys painting plein air, but his current area of art development is portraits using the watercolor medium. He has paintings in collections around the world. He is noted for his uncharacteristic eclectic element in the watercolor medium. Vivid deep natural colors characterize his work. He is a graduate of the League. His works are displayed in several locations in the New Orleans area. Don has studied with Tony van Hasselt, Terry Madden, Carol Ann Whitmore-Herring, Lynne Weeks, Mel Stabin, Tony Couch and through attendance at Delgado and the University of New Orleans. He has taught classes, exhibited in one-man shows and has paintings in corporate and private collections in a number of states and European Countries. Intrigued by the patterns of sunlight and shadows, Don Edwards notes that the luminosity of watercolors helps him capture the glow of life and nature, making his work more enjoyable for viewers. He tends to work with a painterly style that is realistic impressionism. Edwards has enjoyed giving other painters the tools to express themselves visually for several years. He is available for commissions or private classes. |
